The new inscription of the Fasti of Privernum mentions the dictatura perpetua of Caesar in 44 B.C. and the office of magister equitum perpetuus of Lepidus. The epigraphy allows to reread the thesis according to which Caesar wanted a dictatorship for life or a hellenistic monarchy, while perpetuus means also with-out expiration until the end of Parthian war.
