The aim of this study is to investigate potential strategies for the recovery of the tourism industry in Sicily in a COVID-19 context. This empirical study based on the Delphi method reveals that religious tourism is a driver (or independent variable) for the local economy (as opposed to dependent variables or followers such as food tourism etc.). Future research should look at identifying all the drivers of the local economy. This approach should help the local tourist authority to maximise their time, efforts and resources.

Abstract
The aim of this study is to investigate potential strategies for the recovery of the tourism industry in Sicily in a COVID-19 context. This empirical study based on the Delphi method reveals that religious tourism is a driver (or independent variable) for the local economy (as opposed to dependent variables or followers such as food tourism etc.). Future research should look at identifying all the drivers of the local economy. This approach should help the local tourist authority to maximise their time, efforts and resources.File in questo prodotto:
