The essay focuses on the main critical hypotheses contained in the brief reflection of the French poet Edmond Jabès on Dante Alighieri’s Inferno: on the one hand, the theoretical and methodological congruence with the main poetic-philosophical works of Jabès emerges and, on the other, his daring considerations on the symbolic link between the representation of Hell proposed by Dante and the image of the Auschwitz concentration camp.
