The popular element in the Italian translations of Fortunata y Jacinta The reproduction of the popular register in the two Italian versions of Fortunata y Jacinta (First Book) is analyzed, observing the strategies adopted in both translations. Baccani Giani proposes a domesticating text and Rocco the opposite. However, in both the idiolect of the characters is lost.
