Abstract

A group of adult patients suffering from Normal-pressure Hydrocephalus was evaluated by a multi-layer neural network with the aim to predict the surgical outcome (liquoral shunting). Several parameters deriving from clinical, neuroradiological and neurophysiological investigations were employed in the network. The results showed the same numerical distribution in two classes as found in reality. Our preliminary data indicates that neural network could be an useful approach in the diagnostic-therapeutical procedure of such patients.
