In the Hyblean Plateau, along the Tellaro River valley a major NW-SE tectonic lineament, separating the Ragusa and the Siracusa domains, has been recognised. This tectonic feature, here designed as the Tellaro Line, experienced a Neogene-Quaternary poliphase deformation history, due to periodic changes in the stress regime. This evolution is consistent with the regional dynamics of the Hyblean Plateau, which is characterised by the interaction between the NNW-SSE Africa-Europe convergence and the WNW-ESE extension due to late collisional rifting processes.

Abstract
In the Hyblean Plateau, along the Tellaro River valley a major NW-SE tectonic lineament, separating the Ragusa and the Siracusa domains, has been recognised. This tectonic feature, here designed as the Tellaro Line, experienced a Neogene-Quaternary poliphase deformation history, due to periodic changes in the stress regime. This evolution is consistent with the regional dynamics of the Hyblean Plateau, which is characterised by the interaction between the NNW-SSE Africa-Europe convergence and the WNW-ESE extension due to late collisional rifting processes.File in questo prodotto:
