In exitu dalla pagina di Testori al palco di Latini

Driven by the desire to confronted with the words of Giovanni Testori, with his strong theatricalization of grammar, Roberto Latini hasstaged the testorian famous monologue In exitu (1988). This paper analyzes and interprets the show of the roman actor-dramaturg through a reflection on the ideologic meaning of the text, on its existing and urgent social message. Therefore the itinerary of research is structured in two moments: the essential recap of history and themes of Testori’s dramaturgy that allows to contextualize, in the second part, the critical reading of the forms of acting and scenic writing adopted by Latini in his performance. The thesis that welds the two movements of the analysis reveals a sharply ‘bending’ of artistic sensibility that brings Latini closer to Testori; a ‘correspondence of loving senses’ that gives to the actor’s performance a strong emotional impact, and makes it paradigmatic of the profound meaning of the testorian work, of its expressive and moral value.

Spinto dal desiderio di confrontarsi con la parola di Giovanni Testori, con la sua potente teatralizzazione della grammatica, Roberto Latini ha portato in scena il famoso monologo testoriano In exitu (1988). Il contributo analizza e interpreta lo spettacolo dell’attore-dramaturg romano attraverso una riflessione sul senso ideologico del testo, sul suo messaggio sociale ancora vivo e urgente. L’itinerario di indagine tracciato è perciò declinato in due momenti: il recap essenziale della storia e dei temi della drammaturgia di Testori che consente di contestualizzare, nella seconda parte del testo, la lettura critica delle forme di recitazione e di scrittura scenica adottate da Latini nella sua performance. La tesi che salda i due movimenti dell’analisi rileva un deciso ‘inarcamento’ di sensibilità artistica che avvicina Latini a Testori; una ‘corrispondenza d’amorosi sensi’ che assegna alla messinscena dell’attore un forte impatto emotivo, e soprattutto la rende paradigmatica del significato profondo dell’opera testoriana, del suo valore espressivo e morale.
