This paper analyzes the show Discorso grigio by the Fanny & Alexander theater company. The performance of the group from Ravenna stages the rhetoric of contemporary political discourse, operating a very subtle slipping between truth and fiction, or rather between the reality of the ‘media politics’ (the politics conducted through the media) and its grotesque estrangement. Leveraging on a precise theoretical frame, which convoys studies of political communication and media sociology, our analysis first highlights the compositional principles of "finzionalizzazione" around which the dramaturgy of the performance is organized. Afterwards, with an updated theatrological approach, are reconstructed and interpreted the grammar of scenic writing and the technique of acting, which realize a short circuit between reality and fiction-spectacle of political discourse. The results of the Discorso grigio analysis illustrate its ability to unveil the rhetorical artifices of the media politics, demonstrating how the semiotic slippage between realism and fictional meta-comment produces a cognitive and revelatory property of theatrical performance.

Abstract
The results of the Discorso grigio analysis illustrate its ability to unveil the rhetorical artifices of the media politics, demonstrating how the semiotic slippage between realism and fictional meta-comment produces a cognitive and revelatory property of theatrical performance.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
