Cartografia degli habitat della direttiva CEE 92/43 nei biotopi della Provincia di Siracusa (Sicilia orientale)

In the framework of activities to the creationof the provincial landscaping plan of Syracuse, a map of the habitats (scale 1:10.00) of the EEC Directive 92/43 is presented. The habitat mapping,realized in a GIS environment, allowed the implementation of a geo-referred database within a territorial informative system and the production ofthematic maps. 32 biotopes were identified for a total area of 30,597 ha. A total of 48 habitat types were recognized: 30 natural habitat types ofcommunity interest, most of which classified as priority habitat, and 18 not included in the EEC Directive. At last, some considerations concerningthe interpretation of the EEC Directive and the habitat mapping were provided.

Viene presentata la carta degli habitat della Direttiva CEE 92/43 (scala 1:10.000) dei biotopi della provincia di Siracusa prodotta nell’ambito delleattività finalizzate alla redazione del Piano Paesistico Provinciale. La realizzazione della cartografia in ambiente GIS ha prodotto una banca datigeoreferita che è stata integrata in un sistema informativo territoriale (SIT). Sono stati individuati 32 biotopi per un totale di 30.597 ha e cartografati48 diversi tipi habitat: 30 di interesse comunitario, diversi dei quali prioritari, e 18 habitat non considerati dalla Direttiva CEE 92/43. Sono inoltrepresentate le problematiche connesse alla interpretazione e cartografia degli habitat.
