Aim. To evaluate, through a literature systematic review, the efficacy of non-pharmacological interventionsfor the treatment of delirium hospitalized elderly patient.Method. For the systematic review have been consulted Cochrane, DARE, MEDLINE, EMBASE andCINAHL databases, including only experimental studies. Results. Non-pharmacological strategies determineconflicting results. Only mortality is decreased among patients, but these results should beconsidered with caution.Conclusions. So far there is lack of evidence regarding the effectiveness of non-pharmacological strategiesfor hospitalized patients with delirium. This demonstrates the need for primary studies andresearch.
