The contribution is based on an attentive reading of the printed text and the engravings that document the funeral for the death of Louis of Borbone, father of King Philip the V, celebrated in Palermo’s Cathedral. On this occasion ephemeral apparatuses along the nave and a monumental catafalque were prepared, designed by the architect Paolo Amato, protagonist of Baroque ephemeralism in Sicily.
