The aim of this paper is to retrace the legal implications of the novel Small World by David Lodge, within the broader field «Law and Literature». Particularly, starting from the controversial relationship Author/Reader depicted in this novel, there will be investigated how the literary discourse, beyond the differences, can be reflected in the legal one and above all in the dialectic Legislator/Interpreter as outlined by the main theories of legal interpretation in the 20th century.
