Changes in blood and plasma viscosity were studied in a group of elderly diabetics before and after achievement of the glycometabolic balance. Statistical analysis of the results shows a significant reduction of both blood and plasma viscosity after having reached the glycometabolic balance. These data indicate that the control of glycometabolic balance is of primary importance in patients with diabetes mellitus, since it can reduce the hyperviscosity frequently observed in these patients.

Abstract
Changes in blood and plasma viscosity were studied in a group of elderly diabetics before and after achievement of the glycometabolic balance. Statistical analysis of the results shows a significant reduction of both blood and plasma viscosity after having reached the glycometabolic balance. These data indicate that the control of glycometabolic balance is of primary importance in patients with diabetes mellitus, since it can reduce the hyperviscosity frequently observed in these patients.File in questo prodotto:
