The authors describe a clinical case of periapical bone cemental dysplasia and a review of the literature regarding all fibro-osseus lesions of the jaw. Difficulties in the diagnosis of this disease which shares several radiographic and histological features with other jaw dysplasias are also underlined. Differential diagnosis with ossifying fibroma and florid bony dysplasia that share some clinical and histological characteristics but require a different therapeutic approach is also discussed. Finally, any possible therapy is discussed.
