Docufilms with a literary topic represent a sort of sub-category of literary biopics and although they belong mostly in the festival context, they are enjoying a growing exposure. This contribution attempts a very first mapping of the Italian phenomenon. It focuses on several works produced in the new millennium and devoted to key protagonists of the 20th Century (Pasolini e Zanzotto) as well as to the most emblematic case of the first decade of the 21st (Elena Ferrante).
