The critical text (accompanied by the first Italian translation and commentary) of the surviving fragments of the "Chronicon urbis Catinae" by Lorenzo Bolano (late 16th century) is published. Bolanus' work presents a description, often very careful, of the monuments of the Greek-Roman Catania, which were later largely destroyed during the eruption of 1669 and the disastrous earthquake of 1693.
