This paper starts from the need for museums and cultural institutions to increase their accessibility. It focuses on the characteristics of the expert in Easy to read and Understand Language (EL), a professional figure not yet recognized at institutional level. The expert in EL facilitates the understanding of the information contents of museums, through the use of EL guidelines, and promotes equal access to knowledge to all those audiences (person with intellectual disabilities, adults with low literacy skills, immigrants) who are usually excluded from the fully cultural fruition. The paper proposes a curricular and modular training course, specifically addressed to museum educators.
