CT scout image showed a downward dislocation of the left kidney and a cranial displacement of the transverse and descendant colon. The left psoas margin was clearly visualised. CT images revealed a 11 x 13 x 16 cm mass in the region of the left adrenal gland that displaced the splenic peduncle and the pancreatic tail anteriorly. The process showed well defined and regular margins. The internal structure was heterogeneous including tissue of fat density, solid density areas and stellar central calcifications. A marked predominance of fat component was observed. The left adrenal gland was not visualised (Fig. 1-5). Surgical excision was performed: a huge encapsulated mass was found in the left retro-peritoneal space. Histological examination of the lesion was performed.
