The paper analyzes the complex relationship between the development of mobile healthcare and the protection of privacy, with particular regard to the so – called health apps. To this end, after having provided a legal framework for these applications in light of European legislation, it focuses on the rules of data processing and, in particular, on the role of informed consent, highlighting the limits of private protection instruments.
