The present work provides a survey of our comprehensive study on reactions for 6 , 7Li + 28Si and 7Be + 28Si at near barrier energies. It includes measurements on elastic scattering, total reaction cross section, α-production cross sections, breakup, fusion and transfer reactions. It provides an optical model theory for probing the potential threshold anomaly and for predicting total reaction cross sections and fusion cross sections. Additionally Continuum Discretized Coupled Channels are presented offering an insight to the above processes. Results on 6 , 7Li + 27Al and 7 , 9Be +27Al and 9Be + 28Si are also presented and analyzed at the same theoretical contexts for deriving meaningful comparisons.
