The paper seeks to present the philosophy of Francisco Suárez in the complexity, fruitfulness and richness of its articulations within contemporary thought, in particular Heidegger. After having defined the meanings of ontology and metaphysics and having presented medieval Scholasticism, the text analyzes in detail the first three Disputationes Metaphysicae. Universam doctrinam duodecimo librorum Aristotelis comprehendentes of the Spanish thinker.
