This paper focuses on the construction of a MOOC on the FedericaWebLearning platform about British contemporary culture and language. Despite the success and proliferation of MOOC courses in general, the drop-out level is rather high, due to a perception of repetitiveness and the consequent onset of boredom. In order to attempt to resolve this problem, a CLIL-based teaching methodological model and gamification elements need to be incorporated. The MOOC units were thus enriched with video clips, flash-animations, Web-Quests, digital tasks and other interactive materials from English websites to combine motivating and illustrative materials with authentic language input. The preliminary results from the first course are encouraging and seem to confirm enhanced user satisfaction.

Abstract
The preliminary results from the first course are encouraging and seem to confirm enhanced user satisfaction.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
