The A. reconstructs the history of the Germanism Lautverschiebung (in Italian language a masculine substantive or, more rarely, feminine noun) documented at least from 1868, 1876, 1877, and so on (a German term by J. Grimm 1822), in Italian comparative-historical and general linguistics, in the general and dedicated lexicography, and also in the English, French and Spanish linguistics, examining several competitive synonyms/translations.

L’A. ricostruisce la fortuna del tedeschismo Lautverschiebung s.f. (e raramente s.m.), documentato (almeno) a partire dal 1868, 1876, 1877, ecc. (< ted. J. Grimm 1822), nella glottologia italiana otto- e novecentesca, nella lessicografia italiana generale e specializzata, ma anche nella linguistica inglese, francese e spagnola, esaminando i vari sinonimi / traducenti in concorrenza.
