The research shows the analysis of the reception of the face reveal of the editorial phenomenon Erin Doom by the booktok community. The clas- sification and typology of 100 TikTok reactions through a visual analysis allows us to highlight some aspects relating to the performance of the self, understood as the inevitability of the use of the body. The role of identity performance on social media builds loyalty, but above all describes the power of algorithms and affordances (Boccia Artieri 2016). In the context of fan studies and celebrity studies, an element emerging from the case is how the “poaching of the celebrity’s body” has the function of multi-so- cial interaction (Hills 2016) to strengthen fan-fan and follower-booktoker bonds: through emotional transport (see Illouz 2007) on the one hand the sense of belonging to a community is refined and on the other the symme- try of the fan-fan, fan-celebrity relationship is renegotiated.
