Full-tickness defects of the nasal alar rim are relatively common and they are not easy to repair as the architecture of the area does not permit direct reapproximation and cosmetically elegant flaps. The use of flaps taken from the cheek or the forehead, require a two-stage procedure and may be usefull in defects more than 2 cm. In personal opinion, composite grafts provide an excellent cosmetic and functional alternative for the repair of such defects less than 2 cm in diameter. A personal technique of auricular composite graft placement for reconstruction of full-tickness nasal alar rim defects is described.

Abstract
Full-tickness defects of the nasal alar rim are relatively common and they are not easy to repair as the architecture of the area does not permit direct reapproximation and cosmetically elegant flaps. The use of flaps taken from the cheek or the forehead, require a two-stage procedure and may be usefull in defects more than 2 cm. In personal opinion, composite grafts provide an excellent cosmetic and functional alternative for the repair of such defects less than 2 cm in diameter. A personal technique of auricular composite graft placement for reconstruction of full-tickness nasal alar rim defects is described.File in questo prodotto:
