Objectives: This is a protocol for a Cochrane Review (intervention). The objectives are as follows:. To examine the effects and safety of reducing antipsychotic polypharmacy compared to maintaining people with schizophrenia on the same number of antipsychotics. To examine factors of reduction of polypharmacy such as the number of antipsychotics that are withdrawn and whether the reduction of polypharmacy was compensated by increasing the dose of the remaining antipsychotics.
