The figure and name of the Procurator of Judea, Pontius Pilate, have always been the object of a reading that seeks to grasp its enigma. And this starting from the very singular fact that Pilate is the only human name that appears in the Nicene-Constantinopolitan Creed. In this paper I have tried to grasp the depth and centrality of Pilate, starting from historical sources and some of the main literary interpretations. What emerges clearly is that the name of Pilate is imbued with a plural and profound sacred dimension.

Abstract
The figure and name of the Procurator of Judea, Pontius Pilate, have always been the object of a reading that seeks to grasp its enigma. And this starting from the very singular fact that Pilate is the only human name that appears in the Nicene-Constantinopolitan Creed. In this paper I have tried to grasp the depth and centrality of Pilate, starting from historical sources and some of the main literary interpretations. What emerges clearly is that the name of Pilate is imbued with a plural and profound sacred dimension.File in questo prodotto:
