The present paper aims to analyze the main features of the poet’s style, beyond the documentary value of his Dīwān, by examining the rhetorical and semantics peculiarities of qaṣīda 78. The poem, composed in one of the most critical periods during his permanence in Sicily, reveals the extraordinary ability of Ibn Qalāqis to join the use of rhetorical devices and the ‘vividness’ expressed by the inner vision of a metaphorical world.
