Metáfora e idiomaticidad en los fraseologismos españoles con base léxica ‘agua’ y su equivalencia en italiano

Water is an essential element of nature that gives rise to the creation of a very large number of phraseologisms in all languages. This work is motivated by our interest in carrying out a study of the idiomatic expressions that are created in Spanish from the lexical base agua. This corpus includes the verbal and adverbial phrases recorded in the Diccionario de la Lengua Española (RAE, 2022) and in the Diccionario del español actual (Seco and Ramos, 2016). The study begins with an introduction about the theoretical assumptions necessary in carrying out this study, the importance of metaphor and metonymy in current studies of phraseology, a review of the characteristics of phraseologism, fixation and idiomaticity, the latter being essential in the assumptions from which we work. In the methodology section we explain the steps followed in the work and in our proposal for a classification of water phraseology based on theoretical notions about metaphor. Next we carry out our analysis.
