Pain is a mainly subjective phenomenon, which is percei- ved with an intensity not proportional to the stimulus that cau- sed it. Each patient suffers pain in a totally subjective way with considerable differences from case to case, because of several factors: subjective, psychical, cultural, emotional and charac- terial ones. Pain, in its various aspects, is certainly one of symptoms that patients most frequently complain during a ENT visit, especially if the visit is urgently executed. It is possible to classify three pain types: neuralgic, muscle-skeletal and inflammatory-infectious pain
