The object of the work is the tools, methods, experiences and practices for the study of Roman law in exclusive reference to Roman public law and the history of the Roman constitution, which are investigated in the light of the treatises and manuals of Roman public law between the first decades of the nineteenth century and the beginning of the twentieth century, also illustrating the philological and comparative method and the importance of non- technical sources and IT tools.
