The authors describe the TRH effects on central nervous system in animals and men. In animals the result has been represented by an antagonist action of TRH on the sedative effect and also by an hyperthermia from pentobarbitals and ethanol together with a prevention from the effects of these drugs on hypophisis, especially on GH and prolactin release. In men TRH determines euphoria and an increase of physical energy, while contrasting results have been shown on psychiatric pathologies. The authors describe the action of TRH and its influence on neurotransmitters and on endorphinergic system, and suggest that TRH is a physiological antagonist of endorphins.

Abstract
The authors describe the TRH effects on central nervous system in animals and men. In animals the result has been represented by an antagonist action of TRH on the sedative effect and also by an hyperthermia from pentobarbitals and ethanol together with a prevention from the effects of these drugs on hypophisis, especially on GH and prolactin release. In men TRH determines euphoria and an increase of physical energy, while contrasting results have been shown on psychiatric pathologies. The authors describe the action of TRH and its influence on neurotransmitters and on endorphinergic system, and suggest that TRH is a physiological antagonist of endorphins.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
