The article develops a reflection on the contribution of the technological environmental design to the pursuit of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), retracing some research experiences related to four strategic areas of interest. The first two areas of interest refer to the Goal 11. Sustainable cities and Communities, with a reflection on participatory and co-design management models in the context of urban regeneration processes. The third area focuses on the responsible use of resources, with a reflection on the dimension of the strategic plan-project for the construction of resources based systemic visions. Finally, in the fourth area – within various goals of the 2030 Agenda - the analysis is carried out with reference to site specific methods and tools for the identification of environmental critical issues and the evaluation of the direct and indirect benefits generated by the use of nature-based solutions (NBS) in place based regeneration processes of public space.
