The expansion of the BRICS group and the strengthening of the New Development Bank (NDB) represent unequivocal signs of a systemic transformation in the global architecture of economic and political power. While the bloc led by Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa welcomes new members and consolidates its financial institutions, the European Union faces a relative decline in its capacity for influence, hindered by persistent internal fragmentation and an inadequate ability to act coherently on the international stage. This contribution offers a critical reflection on the emerging multipolar scenario and seeks to examine the legal and political implications of the BRICS’ rise, contrasting them with the systemic weaknesses of the European institutional architecture. It does so with the awareness that the future of the global order will no longer be shaped by a single center, but by a plurality of actors with divergent models and interests.

Abstract
It does so with the awareness that the future of the global order will no longer be shaped by a single center, but by a plurality of actors with divergent models and interests.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
