This contribution aims to offer an analysis of the recovery process among adults with dependency issues in therapeutic communities, drawing from transformative learning theory. By presenting the evolution of the recovery concept and the community model, this study highlights the intersections with transformative theory. It identifies potential avenues for further research, focusing on enhancing the professionalism, roles, and practices of educators engaged with vulnerable adults, both generally and within therapeutic communities. Additionally, the study seeks to advance the comprehension of the transformative approach and the recovery processes from dependencies, shedding light on new directions for investigation.
