My article aims to briefly investigate the traces of the Armenian presence in Byzantine and medieval southern Italy. In the wake of some of my previous works, which I will develop here, the focus will be on Calabria, but the field will be widened to other regions of our ‘Mezzogiorno’ and to Sicily, obviously in the context of interrelations with the East, with the Byzantine world and beyond.
