This article presents the correspondence Cesare Cases and Hans Magnus Enzensberger entertained from 1962 to 1966. Held at Centro Interdipartimentale di Ricerca Franco Fortini (University of Siena), this correspondence consists of eight letters and one postcard (all sent by Enzensberger to Cases). By analyzing and commenting on certain excerpts of their letters, we will place the two authors in their national and international contexts and provide a foreshortened picture of the relationships between German and Italian left-wing intellectuals after the Second World War.
