This article examines the resilience of in-person participation in cultural activities across Italian regions during the COVID-19 shock. Drawing on the literature on territorial economic resilience, we develop indicators, based on descriptive statistics and regression analyses, to measure both the initial impact and the capacity for recovery. Using official ticket sales data and survey responses on cultural participation from 2011 to 2022, we provide a comprehensive picture of cultural resilience across regions, identifying influential socio-economic structural factors. Our findings may offer insights for cultural and socio-economic policies aimed at strengthening the resilience of cultural participation and fostering inclusive development.

Abstract
This article examines the resilience of in-person participation in cultural activities across Italian regions during the COVID-19 shock. Drawing on the literature on territorial economic resilience, we develop indicators, based on descriptive statistics and regression analyses, to measure both the initial impact and the capacity for recovery. Using official ticket sales data and survey responses on cultural participation from 2011 to 2022, we provide a comprehensive picture of cultural resilience across regions, identifying influential socio-economic structural factors. Our findings may offer insights for cultural and socio-economic policies aimed at strengthening the resilience of cultural participation and fostering inclusive development.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
