P. Lond. Lit. 77 contains fragments of an unknown dramatic text based on the myth of Medea (TrGF V/2, Addenda, Adesp. After an analysis of the text (whereby some conjectures are proposed), the paper offers a critical survey of the debate and achieves the conclusion that, if the attribution to a satyr drama is problematic for various reasons, on the other hand the mix of high and low style would be strange in a tragedy; therefore, the problem remains open.

Abstract
P. Lond. Lit. 77 contains fragments of an unknown dramatic text based on the myth of Medea (TrGF V/2, Addenda, Adesp. F 667a K.) which has been alter- natively assigned to tragedy, comedy or satyr drama. After an analysis of the text (whereby some conjectures are proposed), the paper offers a critical survey of the debate and achieves the conclusion that, if the attribution to a satyr drama is problematic for various reasons, on the other hand the mix of high and low style would be strange in a tragedy; therefore, the problem remains open.File in questo prodotto:
