This article reconstructs Luigi Einaudi’s federalist case for Europe within his search for a liberal good society. It highlights two constitutive tensions—economic/institutional and local/global—and his lifelong attempt to mediate them. Moving beyond functionalism, Einaudi reframes European integration as a problem of unity in diversity, grounded in political choice, shared symbols, and the emergence of a European citizenship.

Abstract
This article reconstructs Luigi Einaudi’s federalist case for Europe within his search for a liberal good society. It highlights two constitutive tensions—economic/institutional and local/global—and his lifelong attempt to mediate them. Moving beyond functionalism, Einaudi reframes European integration as a problem of unity in diversity, grounded in political choice, shared symbols, and the emergence of a European citizenship.File in questo prodotto:
