The essay provides a comprehensive overview of the forms and themes of Turi Zinna’s dramaturgical work, tracing its development from its origins to its most far-reaching contemporary manifestations. Starting from his peculiar dual talent – whereby Zinna wears the dual hat of actor and author – the essay explores the convergence of various media in his performances, combined with the declared and impelling civic drive, centred on the city of Catania. From the analysis of signature works (Ballata per San Berillo, Il muro, Tifeo il tradimento dell’orecchio, Poison Ivy, Shock in my town - Backrooms edition, etc.), a complex and polymorphic mythopoiesis emerges, consisting of a constellation of texts rendered on stage through vastly different forms: ballad, oratorio, techno-narration, audio-guided and site-specific performances, immersive experiences in augmented and virtual reality. A varied theatrical landscape which, although ‘fragmented’ into a multitude of forms, coalesces around a single imperative: to combine techné and ethos, civil engagement and technological research, thereby updating the usual dynamics of the actor-author model and consolidating intermedial processes between performance and mediatisation.

Abstract
A varied theatrical landscape which, although ‘fragmented’ into a multitude of forms, coalesces around a single imperative: to combine techné and ethos, civil engagement and technological research, thereby updating the usual dynamics of the actor-author model and consolidating intermedial processes between performance and mediatisation.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
