This paper describes a planar single-layer rectangular-slot antenna, fed by a microstrip ending in a fork-shaped tuning stub, for wireless ultra-wideband (UWB) communications. The realized prototype exhibits a stable bidirectional gain pattern in the 3.1–10.6-GHz UWB. Moreover, the antenna is “nondispersive” and minimizes the distortion of the transmitted pulsed signals at different azimuth and elevation angles.

Abstract
This paper describes a planar single-layer rectangular-slot antenna, fed by a microstrip ending in a fork-shaped tuning stub, for wireless ultra-wideband (UWB) communications. The realized prototype exhibits a stable bidirectional gain pattern in the 3.1–10.6-GHz UWB. Moreover, the antenna is “nondispersive” and minimizes the distortion of the transmitted pulsed signals at different azimuth and elevation angles.File in questo prodotto:
