Carnosine derivative containing liposomes functionalized with the Fab’ of Trastuzumab was synthesized. It represents a new class of antibody drug conjugate beacause carnosine acts as an ionophore for Cu2+ or Zn2+, altering the metallostasis of the cancer cells, leading to the their death.
