The imagery of Emilio Salgari conditioned the Italian collective imagery in the post-unification years. Among the most interesting witnesses of this phenomenon is the study of the rewriting (often parodistic) of his novels, of his style, of his characters. The corpus of the works studied includes a novel by Giuseppe Marotta, a story by Giovanni Arpino, a book by Ugo Gregoretti, anthologies of rather recent stories and more. It is also remarkable the presence of a mythography by the author Salgari, not only his characters.

Abstract
The imagery of Emilio Salgari conditioned the Italian collective imagery in the post-unification years. Among the most interesting witnesses of this phenomenon is the study of the rewriting (often parodistic) of his novels, of his style, of his characters. The corpus of the works studied includes a novel by Giuseppe Marotta, a story by Giovanni Arpino, a book by Ugo Gregoretti, anthologies of rather recent stories and more. It is also remarkable the presence of a mythography by the author Salgari, not only his characters.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
