The quantitative modifications of incretion of melatonin produced by the pineal gland, have been investigated in patients affected by cerebral deterioration. The results show an alteration in the daily increation curve, consisting of a decrease of the nocturnal peak, and of a decrease of absolute levels of the circulating hormone.

Abstract
