The increased consumption of typical daily products and the need to safeguard the consumers from the health point of view, have underlined some problems related to the production of the Pecorino Siciliano, a DOP cheese (Reg. CEE 1107/96). For this reason it is born the project of the Caseomobile: a mobile system for cheesemaking. Its first aim is to grant quality assurance in the milk production areas, in order to enhance and protect Pecorino Siciliano cheese and other daily products from sheep and goat milk, obtained from transhumant breedings. This system, is designed for flocks of over 100 heads in lactation, it is completely self-sufficient and can operate without the support of drinkable water or electric power. Furthermore Caseomobile guarantees the full respect of the 92/46 directive.
