A comparison of some chemical characteristics of cherry tomatoes grown in a greenhouse on different substrates (soil, perlite, perlite/peat and grape wastes), under the same agronomic conditions, was conducted. Sugars, ascorbic acid, total phenolics and carotenoids content and aroma components distribution were comparable in all samples. Sensory analysis confirms these evidences, because no differences were found by panelists between the cherry tomatoes grown in soil and alternative substrates.

Abstract
A comparison of some chemical characteristics of cherry tomatoes grown in a greenhouse on different substrates (soil, perlite, perlite/peat and grape wastes), under the same agronomic conditions, was conducted. Sugars, ascorbic acid, total phenolics and carotenoids content and aroma components distribution were comparable in all samples. Sensory analysis confirms these evidences, because no differences were found by panelists between the cherry tomatoes grown in soil and alternative substrates.File in questo prodotto:
