The book, inspired by an event held at the University of Genoa in May 2019, provides a conceptual and geographic map of faculty development initiatives at several Italian universities. It identifies international trends that are driving pedagogical advances in higher education, as well as recommendations and best practices for improving faculty teaching skills. The chapters describes participants’ common approaches, significant experiences, and replicable elements. The book will strengthen the network of Italian and international universities in their collaborative efforts to advance academic and clinical instruction
