Erectile dysfunction (ED) is common in men with Parkinson's disease (PD), especially in elderly, and depressive symptoms are also reported in patients with PD. One can observe in the everyday practice that elderly parkinsonian patients can show depression correlated even to ED. The purpose of our study was to evaluate the efficacy of sildenafil, an orally active agent for the treatment of ED in elderly patients with PD, with moderate depression, associated to ED and treated only with dopamine agonist (pramipexole) (Hoehn-Yahr stage 1-2).
