School to school peer review is a strategy for evaluation and improvement and an opportunity for professional development for the personnel involved; the visiting can also be considered a form of peer review, in which the training potential from mutual observation of exchange ac-tivities situated between the personnel of a host school and those of the visited schools, is prevalent. As part of a training project aimed at developing the evaluative skills of school staff, the visiting was used to support the self-evaluation and improvement processes of the schools involved. The case study, which involved 12 schools from Lazio, Tuscany and Umbria, allows us to consider its potential as a transformative learning tool in evaluation processes among schools and collaborative training for all participants.
La peer review fra scuole è una strategia di valutazione e miglioramento e un’opportunità di sviluppo professionale per il personale coinvolto; anche il visiting può essere considerato una forma di peer review, in cui le potenzialità formative derivanti dall’osservazione reciproca dell’attività di scambio situato tra il personale di una scuola accogliente e quello delle scuole ospiti risultano prevalenti. Nell’ambito di un’azione formativa per la costruzione di competenze valutative del personale della scuola, il visiting è stato utilizzato per sostenere i processi di autovalutazione e miglioramento delle scuole coinvolte. Lo studio di caso, che ha coinvolto 12 scuole del Lazio, della Toscana e dell’Umbria, consente di valutarne le potenzialità come strumento di apprendimento trasformativo nei processi di valutazione fra scuole e di formazione collaborativa per tutti i partecipanti.
